The essay analyzes the “continuous propulsion” towards the novel of Carlo Emilio Gadda, electotechnical engineer but by vocation man of letters, devided between professional job and literary passion. The philological studies of Dante Isella reconstructed in the work of Gadda this continuous research towards the novel, from youth forwards.
